First things first, to those who celebrate any of the following: Merry Chirstmas, Happy Festivas, Happy Hanukkah, and Happy Yule a little late (and if I missed one, happy that as well)! It’s a busy time of year and I can’t believe in a few short days it will be 2013 and then I’ll be 27 shortly after that.
I know that I’ve been a bad blogger, but it’s for good reason. I had to do a lot of work on my secret project and a gift project. I also updated my Chevron Hat pattern for worsted weight yarn (the original was for bulky).
So my secret project has been in the works for quite a while and it was a project for my partner. Somehow in the several months I worked on it, he never caught me. Here are a few pics of the final product (that still needs to be added to).
I need to add at least 4 rows to it to make it a bit longer. I think I’ll be adding 8 rows. This blanket was inspired by some Googling and I landed on PaisleyJade’s blog post. One day when I lose my mind, I want to make one that is the poison mushroom for me.
The other project that I was working on was a scarf for a Christmas gift for my aunt. I didn’t want to post any pictures sooner because I wanted it to be a surprise. It’s the Heide Mountain scarf and it turned out really well. The pattern was easy to knit and I would definitely use it again.
And a matching Chevron Hat (loose version):
This version of the Chevron hat not only has been update for worsted weight yarn, but it also has variations for the brim as well as a loose and cloche version.
So it’s been a post full of photos and you’ve hopefully made it this far.
My knitting plans for 2013 are:
- Type up some more of my patterns to share
- Learn some new knitting skills
- Get ohmisterknitter.com up and running
- Hopefully start on my K25 project…which at this point I’ll have to rename (I have one in mind)
- Try to blog at a very minimum once a month, but twice if I can
- I might try throwing in some more Work In Progress Wednesday and Finished Project Friday posts
Last but certainly not least, have a happy, safe, and healthy new year!
