I haven’t updated in a while so I thought now would be a good time to. Lately I’ve been working on designing a new hat pattern. Last winter, a coworker wore a hat that I liked the cable work on but there were other parts that I didn’t find to my liking, namely fit, fiber, and stitch quality. I found a picture of it online for a base idea and completely changed it up to come up with something new.
I was originally going to design the pattern for women because the main design knits close like a cloche, but after trying it on to make sure that it did cover the head right and seeing it in the mirror, I’ve figured out tweaks for two variations for men as well. Below is a picture of the women’s design with some flowers that I crocheted from Neanners Shop’s blog post.
The other project I’ve been working on a bit has been a baby blanket for a coworker who is expecting his first baby in September. This is one of MakeOne’s Chunky Baby Blankets. I’m going to also add ribbons to one end so that the blanket can be fastened when it is rolled up for easier carrying. Below is a pic of the materials for it.
This is one of my favorite patterns and Vashte is a great pattern designer. I am crazy enough to possibly make an adult sized blanket like this for myself one day.
I don’t have any pictures of it currently, but I have started working on one of my Kylie25 patterns called In My Arms. So far it’s turning out alright, but I can already see where I’ll need to make improvements for when I get to the other glove. Hopefully I will either get a bit further or frog and restart this glove for some pictures soon.
